Minister of Education, Rima Karami, announced that she had decided to reconsider the plan to conduct baccalaureate exams based on the observations of representatives in the Education Committee, indicating that she would adhere to any decision taken by representatives regarding the baccalaureate certificate. She said after the end of the Parliamentary Education Committee meeting: “The representatives shed light on the security file and I promised them to reconsider the examination plan and we will meet with those concerned in the Ministry of Defense to review the plan.” Karami addressed the students by saying: “Never once do I waste anyone’s time in the lesson,” and we want to reach a formula that preserves your security, but “let you study.” The Parliamentary Education Committee voted unanimously to reconsider the decision to hold exams for the official baccalaureate certificate this year, given the exceptional security circumstances that necessitated the cancellation of the brevet certificate this year.
